“Fracking for gas poisoned the water” – talk by visiting US farmer

Sat 22 Feb, 4pm to 6:30pm, Leichardt Town Hall, cnr Marion St & Norton St, Leichardt

Wyoming farmer John Fenton, who featured in the film Gasland, has a tale to tell. Having lived through CSG exploration and production on his farm, he wants to warn the rest of the world about the danger.

Fracking poisoned the water supply for his farm, and has resulted in water having to be trucked into his community, while locals have been hit with serious illnesses.

John is touring Australia to highlight the dangers of CSG and fracking, with a clear message that stopping it now is our only sane option.

Don’t miss John’s only Sydney meeting, hosted by Stop CSG Sydney and the Greens. Entry by donation to help cover international airfares.

17 Nov – National Day of Climate Action

Getup has organised a national day of climate action rallies. The Sydney rally is at Prince Alfred Park, near Central.

Stop CSG Sydney members please meet at 10.30am in Prince Alfred Park near the corner of Chalmers Street and Cleveland St (Cleveland Street side) where the school is. Look out for the yellow triangles. Don’t forget to bring your signs and wear your tshirts. (trains to Central or buses to Cleveland St)

Government policy needs to change and change now and the only way it will is if we get out in the streets. We want CSG mining to stop. We do not need it. It increases carbon pollution, trashes water, soil and health. Clean alternatives are possible and we have enough offshore gas anyway.
