New Environmental Group Established In SW Sydney To Fight Against CSG
Around 30-40 people met 11 April 2013 at the inaugural meeting of the Macarthur Environment Action Alliance at the Ingleburn RSL.
Laurie Ferguson Federal MP for Werriwa attended and offered his support to residents from Raby, Eschol Park, Minto, Ingleburn, Varroville and Camden. Members of Rivers SOS and CSG Free Ingleburn also attended.
Tonight a new regional group MEEA was established alongside four new working groups. One on CSG in Macarthur, one on long wall mining in Macarthur, another on renewable energy alternatives for our region and finally a working group to oppose the Endeavour Energy sub station proposal at Eschol Park.
These working groups will meet up separately in two weeks to discuss ideas for actions and we will all hold a combined MEAA meeting again in one month. We will be seeking guest speakers to attend that meeting in May.
We now have a regional environment action group that unites the Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly Shire Council Areas.
